4월 30일 First T-Ball GameWe survived Drew's first t-ball game yesterday. What a riot! I was hoarse from yelling and screaming. I was so proud of him. He had his own little cheering section. Rick missed the game because he had to work at Comm Center so he'll get to experience the fun next weekend. 4월 10일 Surrender House of LincolntonMost of you know that I recently became involved with a project called Surrender House and joined their board of directors a little over 6 months ago. Our mission was to bring a halfway house for women with addictions to Lincoln County because there was no such service in our area. As expected, there has been much opposition, especially from the neighborhood where the house we chose is located. Our little group stood before Lincolnton City Council last Thursday night with a great deal of support from family, friends, and other supporters. The city council voted for us 3 to 1. Attached is a link to the article that was in this past Sunday's Charlotte Observer. There was also an article in last Friday's Lincoln Times News as well as an article in support of us in the Opinion section. There are more to follow from what I've been told. Many prayers went up for this project and our prayers have been answered to get us off the ground. We had a great time watching him with his new team mates. 3월 27일 Let The Fun BeginDrew is signed up for t-ball this year for the first time. He has his first practice this Friday. We're excited. This should be alot of fun. I hope he enjoys it. I'm sure I'll be posting some pictures. 3월 20일 Girl's Weekend Wow! Had a wonderful time this weekend with four friends. We left the husbands and kids at home and stayed in a cabin in South Carolina all weekend scrapbooking. I got 20 pages done and I'm right proud of myself. I got into scrapping about 2 years ago and I've found it's a great stress reliever. The five of us had a great time and only left to step out on the front porch for some fresh air. Can't wait to do it again. It was a much needed break!3월 1일 Learning A Life LessonWell, what can I say? For all those who may read this...don't take for granted what good things you have that may be staring right in your face. Your friends and family that will be there for you...that's what matters most. You may have a good time and, at the moment, it feels good, but when you look at the big picture...it's not that big of a deal. 2월 27일 Just An UpdateHope everyone is well. We're just plugging right along. Working our tails off and enjoying life. Rick is in the process of buying a motorcycle. I'm just along for the ride. I wish he would get a cruiser but he says he's not "old enough". What does that say when I drive a minivan? Good Lord! |
